This historic 1963 image depicts Centers for Disease Control laboratorian, Mr. Reeves, as he was harvesting antigen from a tissue culture bottle. Modern day protocols now call for the laboratorian executing such tasks, to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, gloves, and a face mask.
