This photomicrograph revealed some of the histopathology found in a Lendrum stained kidney tissue specimen, harvested from a patient with a cytomegalovirus infection, focusing in the cytoarchitectural changes seen in the kidney tubule epithelial cells. Note the number of a cytomegalic inclusion cells in the field of view, also known as owl eye inclusion cells with their enlarged, darkly stained nuclei.
