Under a magnification of 1500X, this photomicrograph of a kidney tissue sample, revealed the presence of what are referred to as cytomegalic inclusion cells. Such cells are also known as owl eye inclusion cells, and were due to a case of cytomegalic inclusion disease, caused by the cytomegalovirus.
