This 1981 image depicted a glass dropper bottle of Dobell’s iodine on the left, and a glass dropper bottle of saline solution, which are two widely used reagents integral in many histochemical procedures carried out in the laboratory environment. Iodine is a key ingredient in the commonly implemented Gram-stain procedure, while saline is an additive used in countless laboratory procedures. The droppers allow for the accurate addition of these solutions down to a single drop with ease.
