This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by a pair of mating, Schistosoma mansoni trematodes. Note that the thinner female was cradled inside the thicker male worm's gynecophoral canal. See PHIL 11192, for a view of the thinner female worm, and PHIL 11193, for a view of the larger, male, S. mansoni.
