This December 1974 photograph showed an adult female holding a very young infant who’d recently received a primary smallpox vaccination. Standing to her right, was an adult male and another small child, who appears to have received a vaccination as well. The four were inhabitants of the city of Biratnagar, Nepal, which at the time of this photograph, had sustained a smallpox outbreak. (See PHIL 10650).
