Under a magnification of 1125X, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of a number of Chlorella sp. algal organisms. The genus Chlorella, is composed of members of single-celled microalgae, containing high amounts of both chlorophyll-a, and chlorophyll-b, and is therefore, very photosynthetically efficient. Note the round, or spherical-shaped cells, which vary in size from 2µm-10µm.
